Hi, I’m Don. I make rock music with a storyteller’s heart. After years of writing, recording, and playing shows, I decided to share the whole stack — music, classic influences, real food, and life tools — on my show Layer By Layer GO!
Highlights: my track “She” was named Pop Song of the Year (2024). I also won a hard-fought battle defending my copyrights against Sony. Over the years I’ve shared stages and sessions with legends (Slash, Richie Sambora, Bo Diddley) and opened for Eddie Money & Rick Springfield.
The Layers
- Music: I’ve been writing songs since the late ’60s — rock, melody, and a little grit. The catalog lives in the Music Vault.
- Classics: I love the tracks we grew up on. On the podcast, I explore the songs that still teach us how to write and feel.
- Food: I come from a family of cooks; I’ve worked in produce aisles and kitchens. Expect real recipes that actually work on a weeknight.
- Life tools: Simple planning and habit systems that help creatives keep going.
