๐ฒ French Onion Soup (No-Cry Method)
Slow-cooked and caramelized to perfection โ this is comfort food that teaches patience, balance, and flavor. Plus, weโve got a no-tears onion hack youโre gonna love.
๐ Ingredients:
- 4 large yellow onions, sliced thin
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 4 cups beef broth (or veggie broth for lighter flavor)
- 1 teaspoon balsamic vinegar (optional)
- Toasted French bread slices
- 1 cup shredded Swiss or Gruyรจre cheese
๐ง No-Cry Onion Cutting Hack:
Chill your onions in the fridge for 15 minutes before slicing. Use a very sharp knife. This minimizes enzyme release and saves your eyeballs.
๐จโ๐ณ Directions:
- In a large pan, melt butter and oil over medium heat.
- Add onions and salt. Stir occasionally for 30โ40 minutes until deeply golden and sweet. Donโt rush this!
- Add broth and optional balsamic. Simmer 10 more minutes.
- Ladle into bowls, top with toasted bread and cheese. Broil 2โ3 minutes until bubbly and golden.
