๐Ÿฒ French Onion Soup (No-Cry Method)

French Onion Soup

Slow-cooked and caramelized to perfection โ€” this is comfort food that teaches patience, balance, and flavor. Plus, weโ€™ve got a no-tears onion hack youโ€™re gonna love.

๐Ÿ›’ Ingredients:

  • 4 large yellow onions, sliced thin
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 4 cups beef broth (or veggie broth for lighter flavor)
  • 1 teaspoon balsamic vinegar (optional)
  • Toasted French bread slices
  • 1 cup shredded Swiss or Gruyรจre cheese

๐Ÿง… No-Cry Onion Cutting Hack:

Chill your onions in the fridge for 15 minutes before slicing. Use a very sharp knife. This minimizes enzyme release and saves your eyeballs.

๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿณ Directions:

  1. In a large pan, melt butter and oil over medium heat.
  2. Add onions and salt. Stir occasionally for 30โ€“40 minutes until deeply golden and sweet. Donโ€™t rush this!
  3. Add broth and optional balsamic. Simmer 10 more minutes.
  4. Ladle into bowls, top with toasted bread and cheese. Broil 2โ€“3 minutes until bubbly and golden.

๐Ÿ‘ Mid-Summer Peach Cobbler

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sugar (or Allulose for low-sugar version)
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) melted butter
  • Optional: cinnamon or nutmeg for topping

  5. Bake 45โ€“55 minutes until golden and bubbling. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
